Tree Care
In order to get the most out of your Christmas tree, please follow the steps below.
With just a little bit of care, your tree will serve as the centerpiece of your Christmas!
- When you get your tree home make a fresh cut on the base of the tree to allow the tree to absorb water. Cut off at least one-half inch. Put the tree in water as soon as possible which will optimize the trees ability to absorb water.
- Place the tree in a stand that holds at least a gallon of water. It is not uncommon for a cut tree to take up to a quart or more of water a day. Water prevents needle drop and maximizes fire resistance.
- If the tree is not going in the house immediately, it should be stored a protected area away from the sunlight or wind.
- Position the tree away from heat sources such as vents, fireplaces, wood stoves, television sets, radiators or sunny windows. These elements can prematurely dry your tree
